Swing Improv Workout 10-Pack

Are you very dedicated to learning how to improvise? Searching for a way to practice improvisation? Looking for jazz violin, swing improvisation, or Western Swing improvisation classes? Look no further. These ongoing classes are for you! The 10 pack offers a great discount on 5 months worth of classes/workouts. Together we work out on swing rhythms, the melody, playing the chord changes, learning licks, chord shapes, and jamming. Buy your 10 pack now and pause it at the start of any month.

The Swing Improv Workout is an ongoing class. The 10 Pack gives you ten class credits (5 months of classes). For your convenience,  you will be signed up for the next ten consecutive classes. (Swing Workout classes are booked in sets of two credits and Texas Style Tunes classes are booked in sets of three credits). Need to take a month off or want to take a break? No problem, with this pass, you can pause at any time and apply your remaining class credits forward. Please note that you’ll receive the class video for every class of the month your signed up for. Let’s get swingin’!

Stay sharp on your improv and swing skills. Like any other activity, this means working out. That’s what we do twice a month with these improv workout classes. To keep things fresh and fun, we learn a new song each month. We focus on all the tools in the swing toolkit and make sure that you are comfortable using them in creative ways. These workouts are fun, fresh, and engaging — and with this class, you’ll have time to balance swing improv practice with your fiddle tune work.

Classes are on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month from 4:00 – 5:15 MDT. You can buy classes monthly or in a bundle (for a discount). Come by for one week, one month… or for the rest of 2021!

In the first Thursday class of each month, you’ll learn the melody the song: the melody, the chords, and ideas for variations on the melody. We play together and do lots of repetitions so that you leave each class with all of the ideas already under your fingers. The second class each month will include swing workouts over the new song, and we’ll do these together. Leave each class with a couple of good licks and exercises to incorporate into your solos and practices. The agenda includes small bites of material to fully integrate into your playing. Take these ideas with you to jams and future improvs/solos over new songs. The second class of each month will also offer an opportunity for you to perform your composed/transcribed solo/improvisations of the song(s) we’ve worked on before we go on to the next one. You’ll be swinging in no time, and fun is guaranteed 😉
